Moon Mind :::
8.9 Moon transits Leo, conjunct Venus. Moon moves through Purvaphalguni nakshatra and into Uttaraphalguni at 14:36 CDT and is in the 3rd tithi until late evening. Be boldly creative. Connect the emotional body with your creative, somatic and physical endeavors. This is an excellent day to resource with the emotions, let them be king, and use them to create, transform and transcend. Personal sexuality/sensuality and fertility/creativity is the primary energy until Moon moves to Uttaraphalguni. The energy, thoughts, desires and needs move towards family, sustainability, and the fruits gained from the previous days etc. Make a fruit salade and enjoy the melange. Moon moves to Virgo at 20:55 CDT. 8.10 Moon in Virgo and moves from Uttaraphalguni to Hasta at 15:40 CDT. The mental and emotional bodies are illuminated. Watch for heat, getting burned- especially the hands. Use this time to sharpen the mind, keep wit alive, work with hand/eye coordination and watch for pick-pockets. Get creative- with the hands. Do a hand dance- enter the dance through the fingers, palm, hand and wrist. Recite the Gayatri Mantra. *If anyone would like to share their "Creative Engagement" Homework from my previous posts, please email it to me so that I can share it with the list in my next newsletter. It's exciting and inspiring to witness the individual creative process. Thank you!

Moon Mindfulness ::: Mind Your Moon
Monday 6.17 Moon in Virgo and Hasta nakshatra, ruled by Savitr, the god of awakening. Savitr rules over the dawn, that space and time that is neither day, nor night, the time of unveiling, waking up and realizing- symbolized by the increasing light. It is a sandhi time (the gap- between night and day) and is considered mystical, filled with opportunity, yet delicate as well. Hasta exemplifies the search, the yearning, the movement towards realization, expansion of consciousness, the striving to know more, grasp more (the symbol is a hand). Reciting Gayatri Mantra will help with the inner awakening, align with Savitr, and awaken the creative potential that moves through the hands. (Think hand/eye coordination and the awareness created with this repetition.) Hasta is ruled by Moon, but Moon is in the 9th tithi (Navami) ruled by the Sun. Today is about balancing masculine and feminine energies within ourselves, shiva and shakti, sun and moon. Find the balance of inner and outer harmony, the dance between light the dark, the joy and pain. Awareness will emerge with a bit of attention/intention. Be alert to the subtleties and nuances. ***I have one spot left for tomorrow Tuesday 18th for an afternoon session. I will not be available for consults from June 19th- August 10th. 5.21 Moon transits Virgo and Hasta nakshatra, ruled by savitr. Savitr is the dawn, the place that is neither day nor night, the waking up, the sandhi (gap) time of the morning. He brings us awareness, awakenings, consciousness expansion and development, a desire and thirst for greater insight and clarity. Savitr determines our scope of awareness and gives us our lagna- birth sign. Not surprisingly, Savitr is especially fond of jyotish since it is one of the greatest tools of awareness and insight as well as spiritual development. Hasta people have a desire to grow on an inner level and often have a profound sense of numbers, astrology, and special abilities with their hands. Palmistry is included in this as the symbol of Hasta is a hand or fist. As with any nakshatra or expression of consciousness, this could mean you are a great healer who uses your hands, an artist who can create through creative alchemy, or a skilled pick pocket. It is through one's consciousness, karma, dharma and desires that we aim our abilities and choose our direction. Hasta reminds us to leave space for more, the expansion, the new day. Then we must take appropriate action steps and use our insight and awareness accordingly. Today Moon gets drishti from Guru/Jupiter as it nears its own sandhi (gap). Mars is sandhi and moves to Taurus tomorrow. Expand your mental comfort today but note the irritations. A certain Rumi quote comes to mind: “If you are irritated by every rub, how will your mirror be polished?” Use the Gayatri Mantra today to enliven your connection to Savitr: Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥtát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃbhárgo devásya dhīmahidhíyo yó naḥ pracodáyāt Want to know more about Savitr and the other deities? 4.23.13 Moon moves to Hasta nakshatra at 9:26 am as it transits Virgo. Hasta is ruled by Savitr and is associated with the Sun at dawn- literally and metaphorically. Waking up through self-realization and consciousness raising tools are inevitable with Hasta nakshatra. He is the awakener, the light-giver, and impells life- even determining ones lagna at birth. Insight, knowledge and some special ability with the hands are associated with Hasta. Hasta's symbol is a hand/fist/fingers and often Hasta people have a time period in their lives where their hands get "awakened" and the magic begins to flow out of them. This awakening within on the mental/spiritual level requires using the hands in some way in order for the creative forces to move through and be enlivened- literally hand/eye coordination. Perhaps we could call it hand/Ajna (third eye) coordination. The Moon receives drishti from Mercury today- Virgo is its home of exaltation. Look for some mental lift, awareness and clarity today. The Gayatri Mantra is connected to Savitr. Use it to increase the momentum and the inner sparks. Use your hands and let the creativity flow from mind to heart and out the finger tips. Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥtát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃbhárgo devásya dhīmahidhíyo yó naḥ pracodáyāt |
